It was a great day on Wolfe Island for a number of IronStriders and SLC Alumni for the Wolfe Island Classic 5k/10k. A bit of a cooler start and a headwind out made things interesting until the heat kicked in. I (Ryan Van Dyl) ran the 10k in 37:51 good for 3rd overall Courtney Brohart made it through the 10 in 41:32 as the first female in 9th overall! SLC Alumni and Focus trainer Megan Cook pushed it through the 10 in 53:16 for 6th in her AG!
And how about that hardcore dedicated Stroy, with his first ever race experience as this 10k race finishing in 56:03! He’ll have to email the organizers to change his name from “Story” so people know he’s making these huge accomplishments. Danae Morris also was part of the fun team atmosphere on the island running the 5k from near the front. She was able to stay connected to the top females and finish in 21:21 as the 3rd female finisher.
